NoMad

NoMad

I am one of those who fell in love with New York.

When I was 21, I visited New York for the very first time in my life on my university graduation trip. A lot of classmates chose to travel to France or some other popular destinations like Hawaii, but I was the only one who was dying to visit New York. I bought the airplane ticket by myself and finally landed at the Big Apple.

When I close my eyes, I do still remember how I was excited when I crossed the Queensboro Bridge from Queens to Manhattan. That was the first time my jaw dropped literally. Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Supertall skyscrapers. This was the moment my dream came true. I guess the same feeling when you cross the Shibuya scramble crossing.

When I worked in Manhattan, I experienced a lot of new things and had the most memorable days of my life. It was like every day, a new adventure. As you already know, Manhattan is such a small island. So, you can walk across the island from the East to the West in 40-45 minutes. I really liked that compactness. As it is in Tokyo, there were various area names, such as Upper East, Upper West, Tribeca, etc. One of the areas was “NoMad”. Just for your information, NoMad stands for North of Madison Square Park.

The NoMad District is New York City’s quintessential neighborhood. The streets are steeped in history and lined with handsome buildings, world-class hotels, wonderful restaurants, exciting nightlife, and unique retail shops. Centrally located in Manhattan with easy access to the entire city, NoMad is the current hub of New York’s creative and tech industries and buzzes with a unique energy day and night.

In the last couple of years, NoMad came into the spotlight. Especially, Mitsubishi Estate built the luxury condominium called “Rose Hill” in 2021 and some new constructions are projected to lease. Coincidentally, my final real estate deal in New York was in NoMad. This area still attracts me a lot even though I have already left New York. This the part of the reason I adopted it as our company name with a strong wish to purchase a condominium unit in NoMad someday…
